During the XI Latinamerican Conference of Free Zones in the Americas, which took place in Managua, Nicaragua, IMISA has been named Active Member in this Institution.

For the first time, Nicaragua was the venue for this annual event that gathered official staff members from Free Zones in Spain, The United States, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Haití, Angola and other Latin American countries which belong to Free Zones in the Americas, which allows them to widen business relations among countries.

During this event, different lecturers highlighted the importance of regimes related to Free Zones, their strategic advantage, the investment tendencies, the strategy to improve competitiveness in Latin America, the economic development in Latin America through the Free Zones model, the contribution of Free Zones in the tax policy of the nations and logistic subjects among many others.
